Setting Date & Time in CEM+

How do you set the current date and time in CEM+ modules? We have a 3 rack Sensor system with CEM+ modules. The CEM's are all connected thru a small network hub. We will occasionally connect a laptop PC to this network to configure/reconfigure rack functions. If there are any stored errors, they display with a date and time...  that is nowhere near accurate and that we cannot correlate to the actual time and date of the error. How can we set the date and time for the CEM+ modules in these racks? There is no other networking equipment or connections.. just the 3 Sensor racks and an occasional laptop PC. Dimmer control is all done with an Express 48/96 console and DMX. Ideas?

  • Hi William,

CEM+ uses a protocol called "SNTP" to synchronize its time to other devices on the network - it doesn't directly have a method to set time, sadly.

So what you will need is to install ETC's Gateway Configuration Editor (available here) on your PC, and then enable the "Time Service" in the Network -> Configure Network and Services menu.

After that, the CEM+ will sync it's time with your PC (it may take a few minutes to do that, to speed it up you can reset it).

    Hope that helps,
