Sensor Rack Fan

Hi, We have 3 ER48 racks in our venue. On one of them the fan in the top of the unit has stopped.

It is set to always on. I guess it's because it's been going for the last 10 years non stop.

Does anyone know how to change the fans?

Many thanks

Baz

  • Hello Baz, In order to replace the fan in an ER48 rack, please follow these steps:

Switch off and disconnect the power from the rack.

Unscrewing the screws located on the top panel enables you to safely take apart and take down the rack top cover.

Locate the fan that needs replacing; it should either be mounted to a bracket or attached directly to the rack top panel.

Disconnect all cables connected to the fan from its power source.

Unscrew or loosen any screws holding the fan into place.

Remove and install the new fan.

Resecure any screws or fasteners holding the fan in its place.

Reconnect the power cable and any other cords which were unintentionally detached.

Replace the rack's top cover and secure its screws securely.

Turn the power back on for your rack, and verify that its fan is operating efficiently.

Before purchasing and installing a replacement fan, be sure to read up on its specifications from its manufacturer to ensure it fits with the appropriate size, voltage and airflow for your rack. Wear gloves and goggles when handling it safely for optimal results.

Hope this has helped, please let me know if any further queries arise.
