Hello!

Please contact your local ETC Authorised Service Partner to have your racks updated. Power Control processors rarely need to be updated. What is the reason for wanting to update?
Hi Corey,
Our CEM3 controllers have different versions: 1.5.1, 1.6.1, and 1.7.2. We had 2 CEM3 controllers fail due to a boot loop last year, and they only lasted a year after removing the test switch. Is updating using USB feasible? Thank you.

Removing the test switch would require a hardware modification of the CEM3 - why was the test switch removed?
I would advise that you contact ETC Support who can recommend the next best possible steps - which could also involve how to update the CEM3s if necessary:
Hi Corey,
Test switch was removed because of boot loop issue.
Thank-you for that information. In the long term, it would make sense to have that switch replaced, so that in the future for service/troubleshooting, the function will be there.
As for your current question about updating your CEM3s, I would advise that you contact ETC Technical Support. Here is a list of contacts:
Hi Corey,
The CEM3 with the test switch removed last year has died and is currently under repair. What could be the cause of the CEM3 rack detect error? According to the manual, it means the dip switches on the backplane aren't being detected, and it suggests ensuring the CEM3 is seated properly. We've checked, and it is seated correctly. We have tested the CEM3 on another rack, and it worked fine, indicating that the CEM3 is not the issue. What can I do to fix the error if I don't have a spare backplane? Our CEM3 version has been updated to 1.7.4. Thank you.
Rack Detect Error suggests there is a communication issue between the Rack and the CEM3.
Here again to assist with troubleshooting, I would advise that you contact ETC Technical Support. Here is a list of contacts:
