Virtual Win98

Has anybody had any luck running Windows 98 as a VM on a Windows 10 machine?

I have not had luck getting a working install on VMware Workstation Pro 15.x

Or Oracle VM Virtual Box.

The install falls apart after setting the date.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

For the specific instances where Windows 98 (and only Win98) is required, we do still use dedicated, really old, laptops. Otherwise, we use VMware and Windows 7 32-bit for most virtual needs.

Not for nothing, but I feel like ETC IT department might have some insight on this. Unless the factory techs are running dedicated laptops for legacy OS products.
