Lens and barrel

Hi, can a barrel be altered to make the lens a wider coverage. What I mean is, can I move the glass (if the glass is the same) to change the lens to be wider?

Each lens is designed specifically for the intended degrees it is meant to refract the light towards. Thus you can't use one of the 36deg lenses to make a 26deg pool.
