Regain control over Lights after Network Change - EOS Nomad

Hello,

I have a question:

I work with ETC Nomad in a small theatre. We are using a ENTTEC Artnet Node, that is connected to a router to control the lighs.

Normally I control the lights via Ethernet cable, that is plugged in into the router. But from time to time I need to disconnect and go upstage. In this case I switch to wifi.

Independently both connections work perfectly. BUT: Once I am connected to one or the other Network adapter, my whole Lights get kind of stuck.

I cannot control them anymore until I shutdown the whole System. It seems like the Lights take the settings from the former connection and do not allow overwriting them by the new connection. Maybe it is not even Eos related but ENTTEC.

My question is: is there a kind way to tell the lights now reset and listen to new connection?

Please telle me if you need any further advices.

Kind regards

  • I have had some bad experiences with ENTTEC nodes where if the source IP address changes, then some (but not necessarily all) channels become non-responsive. That sounds like what you're running into. A simple power cycle of the ENTTEC node should solve it most of the time.
