lens tube angles

Hi

I have 50 Deg. fixed lens tubes on some Color Source V profiles. It's a little wide. I was wondering if folk had tried moving lenses about within the lens tube. Thinking I might try it in the 36 Deg slot.

Is this ok? Anyone experimented with this? Suggestions or warnings?

Thanks

Gareth

  • Never played around with this but:

Just keep in mind that there is a lot of exact math that goes in the the emitter, reflector, lens, and lens tube. So, change any variable and all he math changes. Moving a 50 degree to a new slot changes several variables.

    Possible issues

Beam distortion: The beam may become blurry, uneven, or develop halos.

Focus issues: You might not be able to achieve a sharp edge, no matter how you adjust the barrel.

Hot spots or dim areas: Misalignment can cause uneven light distribution.
