PSA: Software version in shipping hardware

Hey all, 

I've spent embarrassing amounts of time wondering why the Mosaic equipment on my job was "not working" on two recent occasions. 

The problem, both times, was that new shipping hardware (as late as leaving the factory last Friday, 2016-07-29) is shipping with 1.x firmware. You'll only be able to detect these devices if you are running MD 1,x (why do that please stop) or the Firmware Upgrade Tool.

  • Hi Andrew, we made the decision to continue shipping on Designer 1 software so that no site was forced to upgrade. We have a large number of Designer 1 sites out there some of which are not capable of upgrade and wanted to make sure the none had to change their programing to adapt to Designer 2. We always recommend that you update to the latest version during commissioning.
