D20 Module Not Compatible with OPTOTRONIC LED Driver (HE Williams Pendant)

We installed HE Williams pendants that used OPTOTRONIC® OTi 55W Compact Programmable LED Drivers. They flickered intermittently when used with D20 modules even when set to switched mode. Switching to R20 modules eliminated the problem.

This makes sense. A D20 in switched mode does not fully eliminate the clipping that happens inside the choke with the sinewave.

An R20 is a true air gap relay and the correct option and glad that worked. Other options would be a CC20 or a ThruPower run as a relay.

ETC does not recommend using third party devices with a D20 in switches/non-dim load. Only ETC fixtures are tested and confirmed to work with D20s in switched mode without issues on the electronics.
