Moving Light to Follow Pre-Determined Path

Is this the general gist of what you are wanting to do?

Cue 1 - Start Stage Left

Cue 2 - Turn Light On

Cue 3 - Move Light across to Stage Right

Cue 4 - Turn Light Off

What part didn't work "quite right" for you?

everything:) what you wrote isn't translated on to how to program it on the cs, and it seems simple i know :(

in, out, wait times never seem to correspond. Cues or sequence? etc

Hey Derek,

Here is a showfile showing how I would program what you described (I am running ColorSource v2.0.  I am only doing a simple Pan move in this demonstration.

If your problem was trying to get a mover to follow a straight line across the stage, then that is a whole different issue, and takes a lot of timing manipulations.

Sorry for the delay, while creating this I found a few bugs that needed logging before I could continue.

Ahh, moving along both axis is tricky.  I always try to hang my fixture in a position to allow that type move to occur only on the tilt axis.  It's by no means possible all the time, but if you can do a clean tilt sweep across the stage it will be far better.

One thing I have found to prevent the stutter stepping across the stage is to have the fade time slightly longer than the follow time (.1-.3 seconds).  This prevents the fixture from doing the start stop stutter.

Just a thought-maybe it could be an effect in the parameter library down the road, a straight line back and forth?
