It would be nice if Home on a fixture was a good starting point for programming. Movers in a theatre I worked in homed to straight down tight zoom and hid their beams in the audience seating. You couldn't tell from the lighting box they were on.
Perhaps Home should be a set of default palettes that are initially loaded with the values from the personality files, but able to be overwritten by the user, so if you wanted to start with the head pointing at the stage, aim it there then record that position on the Home palette. There might be home settings for Beam that you might not like in the personality too.
