When you change a channel during a crossfade in Live, you will see the value after the crossfade calculation. This will create this effect. However, you are still doing the correction in the A field.
You can always open the A or B field (pressing A or B) to view/edit the value directly in the field. In this case you will see the value that you set and not the computed value during the crossfade.
If you want to take control of the channel regardless of where its value is coming from, you can use the CAPTURE function.
