Missing Legs when importing .dae file into Augment3d

Im having a challenge when importing my 3d model. its drawn in VW2020 and exported to collada. When I import it I am missing my SL Legs. I went back into my original file and redrew them and tried the import again and they are still missing. I have also tried copying the SR legs which are visible in Augment3d and putting them in the SL position and still no luck.

  • For those following along, Vectorworks' soft goods tool creates soft goods that are transparent on one face and solid on the other. This can cause them to not appear when viewed from certain angles. A workaround is to draw them twice (once from right to left, once from left to right) so that they are essentially duplicated back to back and visible from all angles.

  • As a follow up for anyone else seeing this issue: it's easy to tell if this is indeed the issue if when you are "flying around" your model in A3d, the soft goods appear from "one side" but not the other. So, from one viewing position but not from another.

Just rotate around your stage / architecture in A3d and see if they show up from a different angle. Then you can take note of which soft goods are visible from the direction you want, and copy that "drawing direction" to other goods [or just draw them twice, as suggested above].
