House Light Patching

I am attempting to import multiple fixtures for house lights from a Vectorworks file, but when I import they are only read as one fixture, and as such only appear once in Augment3d. I have 5 groups of 7 house lights, with all 7 of each group set to the same address and channel in Vectorworks.

Is there a way for me to differentiate between them in Vectorworks so that they import with all of the fixtures? Or is there some way to add more lights to one channel in Augment3d?

I work in a theater where mostly conventional lights are used, and we often end up putting multiple lights on one circuit, so while right now it's not a huge deal, as I don't really need house lights in my model, later on when I need to use this for a show it will be a much larger issue.

  • Thanks! this was helpful, however it did not entirely solve my problem. This works for making fixtures directly in Augment3d, however I was not able to import all of the fixtures from vectorworks. It appeared that it would only import patched fixtures.

I ended up just setting them all to the necessary channel in Vectorworks, and then patching one of the ones on each channel to the correct DMX universe/address, and the rest of the group I patched to a cummy universe that I don't have connected to anything.
