what is the best way to work with a basic 9" fresnel (spot / flood / soft focus)
If you go into Patch, and select the channel you want to soften, then change the value of Beam Edge under the Augment3d tab to either 0 or 100, that will give you the softest beam edge. 50 = hard, and then it is a linear scale from there in each direction.
Beam Edge and Beam Angle are both on the Augmet3d tab in Patch. The default Beam Angle is 40 degrees, (I think), so you'll want to play with that for spot / flood.
