Focus of virtual beam for fresnels.
Focus of virtual beam for fresnels.
Those are static fixtures, correct? You can enter the Beam Angle in Patch > Augment3d. This is for all channels that don't have a Zoom parameter that's remote controlled from the console.
That's perfect. Thank you so much. I completely misunderstood the significance of this parameter.
Let me show you what I see, and we'll take it from there
Those two fixtures are Ovation F 915FC in 5ch mode. The left one has a Beam Angle of 5°, the right one has 50°.
Are you getting a different result, or is my result not what you're looking for?
Exactly what I'm looking for but, when I come to adjust the beam angle, I'm told that it's not a valid option for this fixture. As far as the Eve P and Ovation profile, the beam angle is now adjustable.
What's the exact fixture type you're using? And does it show an asterisk (*) in patch? And finally, what software version are you using?
There is no asterisk. Fixture type is set to Ovation F 145WW 6ch and I'm running 3.2.4.58.
Ah, this explains it. These fixtures have a motorized zoom controlled by DMX, in some of the modes. Augment3d should react to the Zoom encoder. Is it reacting, but the zoom shown doesn't match what you're seeing in real life? Or nothing happens at all?
The Zoom works perfectly but the basic focus without any Zoom is way too tight. This means that, on the Augment3d view, the general cover looks like six tight pools of light.
The data sheet mentions different zoom ranges. Does the Zoom look more realistic if you go to the fixture editor and change this fixture's zoom range to 25 - 65°?
Pleased to say that that has done the trick. Many thanks for your patience on this. Feeling like I know Augment3d quite well now having rummaged under the hood so extensively for the past week!
