Pan/Tilt Inversion and Encoder Direction Issues Between Stage and Visualizer

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue in Augment3D. I have a complete show with palettes and presets that are correctly positioned in my 3D visualizer.

However, I often get pan and tilt inversions compared to what I see on stage. By using invert pan and tilt, I can get the moving light into the correct physical position, but I then run into two problems:

  • The fixture appears inverted in my visualizer (not ideal, but manageable).
  • I sometimes get encoder inversions: I turn the encoder to the left, and the fixture moves to the other side (in French we say jardin and cour, but I’ve kept left and right here for clarity).

Thanks in advance for your insights.

  • Thank you very much for your message. I’ve just fully understood how it works in the end.

Step one is to make sure pan and tilt move in the same direction. Then, if needed, adjust the fixture’s orientation in Augment3D.

In my case, inverting the pan values (-270 / 270) did not solve the issue. What actually fixed it was removing all inversion settings in the fixture itself and confirming the correct placement of the fixture in Augment3D.

It’s just a bit unfortunate that there isn’t an option to invert the pan or tilt encoder.

    Thanks again!
