Issues with EOS Aug3d Demo Files

I've been having trouble getting the EOS Augment3d Demo Files to work for me in Nomad.

In the Proscenium file the lights are not focused, is there a version where they are or would I need to do this by hand?

In the Concert file the lights don't turn on or focus in Augment.

I also have a question, I notice in Proscenium and Concert's Show File Printouts and show files none of the Channels are patched with an address. There are fixtures in both Augments assigned to respective channels (though the tombstones are greyed out) and in the Proscenium file those Channeled lights can still be affected in patch and turn on. I don't really understand why that is. I noticed this in the Hamilton Project file as well. Could someone tell me how this works?

  • Yes, you're correct, in the Proscenium showfile the conventionals aren't focussed. You can design the focus the way you want, this can be done quite quickly using Click To Focus.

I can't reproduce your problem regarding the Concert showfile. I tried having channel 1-4 at full, the pars (channels 21-28, 31-38) worked as well and the movers (channels 31-48) lit up and reacted to click to focus. When it wasn't working for you, can you check if the channels show their intensity in the Live tab?

Augment3d doesn't read DMX/sACN output from the console. As it's an internal tool it doesn't have to rely on values the console sends into the network and then try to translate them back to how that DMX value might look in real life. Augment3d knows what to show not by interpreting DMX, but by looking at the user values of the channel parameters. So rather than knowing what a value of e.g. 213 on the DMX address for Zoom needs to represent, it can simply look at the values you can see as well: Zoom 37.5°. So: since Augment3d gets the values from Eos directly it doesn't need DMX, and that's why channels don't need to have any patched addresses.

    Does this help?

  • Thanks for clarifying about the Proscenium file!

I tested the Concert show file on a different computer and I managed to get the Solaframes to work. I will try again on the original computer and check for the intensity. It is possible the Aug3d light option was too low. Though we were not able to focus it so I'm not sure why that would be.

Thanks for answering my question about the unpatched channels! That makes a lot of sense.
