did you know that you can switch software versions 3.0 and 2.9.1 back and forth, just with a click, no need to uninstall and re-install? this doesn't work with 2.7.4, but with 2.9.1. so you could try with 3.0 and if you run into a problem you click a button and reboot into 2.9.1. and if you then have a moment to try again, you click a button and reboot into 3.0 again.
