I have an IonXE and Response Midi Gateway which is connected via USB. When I send a midi signal to the gateway the In (y/n) on the front panel just flickers from Y to N but I am receiving no timecode on the console. The flickering seems to be consistent in that it flashes Y three times then N once and repeats. I know the midi signal coming in is good as I have tested it on other devices including and older Ion with the onboard Midi input. I have tried using different USB ports and also set it up on the network. Same problem.
Has anyone else come across this issue before?
What's the firmware version of the response gateway?
I also checked the Midi Input info on the gateway and it appears to be flicking between Play/Stop/PitchBend commands. I am using a Motu micro express to convert from SMPTE to Midi
v22.214.171.124 is available for that Response MIDI Gateway and fixes an issue with MIDI Notes specifically. It might also affect the messages coming from your converter, so I would suggest using UpdaterAtor on a PC to update to that version and see if that helps.
Thanks Matt. I will give that a try.
I think I am being an idiot. I have installed UpdaterAtor on my PC and connected the gateway on USB. UpdaterAtor isn't seeing the device.
The gateway must be connected via ethernet to update via UpdaterAtor.
Thanks Seth. I thought that might be the case. Unfortunately I don't have a network switch available.
Firmware update fixed the problem thanks
