Hello, I'm trying to set up a PC and a Ross Overdrive controlling Switcher to be able to send commands to an Element to bring up cues. How do I this?
ASC II commands are preferred.
Also have a stream deck if that helps.
I need all information total noob at this.
Wrong Forum, use Show Control Support. Have a look to the EOS manual item "Show Control". Control with Serial strings (ASCII) over network is possible. Don't know if Element have a serial RS232 port.
Thanks, reposted
Element and Element2 do not accept Serial RS-232 - they don't have a port for it. There is a port for remote contact closures.
Can your system send UDP strings over a network? That's probably the simplest method - you can send direct commands like keystrokes, or trigger Macros on the Element that you program to take certain actions.
Here's a link to the Eos Family Online Help, About Show Control: About Eos Family Show Control
Thanks, yes we are going that route now.
Do you happen to know the commands for Ross Talk to bring up cues?
The page of Serial commands is here: Receiving Eos Serial Commands – RS232, UDP, and ACN EPI Strings You might start with Go 1 2 to fire Cue 2 of List 1.
Go 1 2
Keep in mind that you'll need to enable String UDP in the shell and Setup > Settings (those are explained in other parts of the manual).
Ok great thanks.
