Osc RX interfering with "Undo"

Hi everyone,

We recently started experimenting with Osc and noticed a weird behavior/bug.

Specifically, when sending constant Z rotation position values to Augment3d, it seems to grey out commands in the undo window.

Long story short, we are sending osc to a SEM, to rotate the model of the set on its Z axis in A3D, to maybe integrate SEM focus tracking in the future.

Using the following commands in a proprietary software managing the revolving stage. (Thanx Ueli for the proper syntax!)

/eos/user/99/chan/961/param/z_orientation/override <value>

/eos/user/99/chan/962/param/z_orientation/override <value>

It's a double revolving Set.

We send this to eos on a different user from the Light op, on it's own partition containing just the SEMs.

Everything is working fine and dandy except I noticed during LX session that my undo was greyed out at random, for basic undoable commands.

Everything goes back to normal when I disable Osc RX.

Apparently, it's a known issue with constant Osc.

Any feedback appreciated !

  • Thank you for letting us know. This is currently written up as to be fixed in a future version of the Eos software

OSC Input may interfere with Undo History especially when many messages per second are input

I'll add your case to the description.

  • Wow that was fast, thanx!

  •   in a previous instance where a customer reported an issue like this to us, they were sending changes over OSC to Eos at ~30-40Hz (30 to 40 OSC packets per second).  Is that similar to the frequency of OSC updates you are using?  And is there a way for you to dial that back to see if it helps?

  • Hi Matt,

We tried to speed down from 60Hz to 10Hz with no significant difference.

Also, I forgot to mention the software version in the OP, running 3.2.8.
