Using a Random Access Cue instead of a Submaster to Pile-On Channels in a Linked Sequence

I'm trying to streamline a sequence, which is usually done like this:

1.  I am in Cue 1, which is a base look for the stage.  The talent enters.

2.  Depending on where the talent lands onstage, I go to one of a selection of cues built for different onstage positions (2,3,4,5,6,7).  Each of these cues is currently linked to Q10.

3.  Anticipating another person's entrance, I bring up Submaster 1 to boost an entrance area (this is a consistent pile-on regardless of the talent's position)

4.  I then need to hit Go on Cue 10 and take the sub out for the next move.

I would like to do this sequence without needing to manually run the sub handle up and down.  Other than writing a macro to trigger the sub, can I write a cue (let's call it Q8) that will pile on only certain channels no matter which subsequent cue links to it?  I'm not certain whether a conventional cue would act this way, in a random-access fashion that is independent of what's tracking below it, as it were.  This is definitely an HTP situation--only boosting is needed.

Any advice is most appreciated.
