All Eos family consoles are capable of controlling media servers via the usual network protocols - Art Net or sACN.
You will find a fixture personality for all the commonly used media servers in the library. There are many shows out there using Eos for video, including some recent high profile ones.
Bear in mind that Media servers usually come with a lot of attributes, so depending on how busy your show is you may want to pick the console with the most appropriate control surface to make your life easier.
Eos family consoles also have pixel mapping software built in.
So i want to be clear on this. both Ion and Element can run video. just link up through Art net in the patch?
what would you say is the main difference between Congo Jr and Ion then.

Completely different language and style of programming.
but other than language and style you would say that the capabilities are the same?
The capabilities are the same or very similar, but what Graham mentions about the control surface is the key.
Depending on what you are controlling and on your familiarity with a particular system you may wish to choose a particular platform. If you are more familiar with the Eos syntax and surface then go with that as you'l find it much faster to work with the media server or if you have more experience with Congo then that might be the option to go with. They are both capable systems however.
Cheers
Dan
Thanks. All good to consider. I very much like Eos, so ION looks like it may carry the day
