ETC Gio Issues/Help

Hi All

I have recently had the opportunity to use one of the new Gio consoles and am having an issue with DMX.

The Console is brand new out of the box

At first the 2 DMX ports on the back of the console were working fine. Then oddly and whilst not touching the console the dmx seemed to be lost and the entire rig came on and started flickering ( only the conventionals were doing this) Some how it stopped not sure exactly how.

However today when setting up the dmx gateway , again not touching the console the same thing happened. The lights all to ramped on to full, Only this time I cant seem to get it to stop. The weird thing is when it is running through the gateway vie ethernet it works fine, as soon as you put universe 1 into the DMX port on the console theres flickering.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. the idea is to have universes 1 & 2 from the ports on the console and 3-6 through the gateway.

    Hi Ben,

    This is unlikely the cause of the problem but it's worth checking first of all what speed the gateway outputs are set to, and compare it to the Gio outputs in the shell. You said it's only happening on the conventionals, so possibly there is some dimmer equipment on that universe which is not responding well to full rate DMX?!

    If this all looks to be the same I suggest you contact ETC Tech Support who will be able to help you.
