VLAN Tagging

Howdy D.,

  I'm assuming you're talking 802.3q tagging or something similar.  We recommend a flat network architecture for all of the Net3 device communication.  That in mind, I'm not sure why you would be trying to VLAN within the Net3 network.  Also, in general 802.3q isn't an endpoint concept at all.  It's used to support multiple endpoint VLANs routing through a single link from switch/router to switch/router.  

  If there's something specific you're trying to do with this, I'd recommend giving a call to us here at ETC and speaking with me or our applications engineers about your use case.  We may have already dealt with something similar and be able to help you find the simplest path to success.

That's Precisely what I am talking about.

The building in question has sort of a unique network infrastructure involving a convoluted list of entities operating in the same space.  I inherited a network with severe issues and then our instal company added a net3 network on top of it and we ultimately want to unify the networks under one Wi-Fi mesh.  We are using VLAN tagging to seperate VoIP lines, three different network domains, and we want to add the lighting network to the mix for wi-fi purposes... all on the same infrastructure.

We have two theatres.  Both have an Ion, both have Net3 installed.  Ideally we want to be able to access either space via Wi-Fi and use the same AP's as the rest of the network.  Ultimately I can probably keep the NET3 side flat and work from there.  My troubles will just stem from multiple DHCP servers on the same infrastructure, but that I think can be overcome in routing... anyhow, thanks for the response.
