Networking iRFR WLAN to a LAN with a firewall in the middle.

I am hoping someone has already gone through this exercise and will be able to reply.  I am working with our lighting team to integration the GIO and ION consoles to the iRFR devices.  We are on an enterprise network so we have some tight requirements when it comes to configuring and setting up devices.

The wireless device (Iphone/tablet) will be behind an firewall.  Does anybody know the ports are used to communicate between the console and the iRFR device?  I would need to know the ports required in both directions.

In order for the wireless device to go through our proxy to connect to the play store or app store we also need to know if the device is proxy friendly.

Any help answering these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brent

  • Communication between the iRFR app is pretty simple.  It's just a TCP connection using port 3031.  If your filter is set to allow any traffic where either the source or the destination port is 3031, then the required traffic will pass.

I'm not familiar with how the iPad or iPhone handles proxies.  It seems like that would be a very standard thing to support, but I don't have any specific experience with it.
