Updating WITHOUT palette changes...

Hello

You want to update {Make Absolute} and this will not update your referenced palettes but will put absolute data into the cues. If you think you'll never want to update the palettes (or any reference data) you can change your default update style to always be Make Absolute in settings.

You may also prefer to Lock your colour palettes, to do this just select the palettes and you'll see a softkey which says Lock, this will also prevent update from updating the reference.

Thanks guys, I knew it was an easy one but haven't touched an etc desk in some time!! 

Out of interest, do most people like to change the default setting to always record absolute? I rarely update palettes that I want to run through the whole cue stack... And the ease to just tap update enter / update cue only is too easy throughout a tech! 

I tend to lock the palettes I don't expect to change and use Update All as the default early in tech and switch over to Make Absolute as the default closer to opening night when the tweaks are more specific.

As Ellen White says in training, think of Update as a 3-step process. Press Update, understand what it is going to do, then press Enter when you are sure it is updating what you expect.
