RFR won't connect to base

I've been having a problem getting my RFR to connect to the ION base station.  I've updated the firmware on both and tried various channels changing it on the RFR handheld and the base station in the board itself but when I turn on the handheld it never connects to anything.  All it says is "Search Base Station"

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on what can make this work again?

  • Howdy Stagemonkey,

What version of Software did you update the RFR Handheld to?

What version of Software did you update the RFR Base Station to?

How is the base station connected to the Ion? Via a Network Switch, or via USB directly

    to Ion?

When you set the HF channel of the USB-Connected Base Station, you do

this in the Ion Settings Menu USB RFR right?

When you set the HF channel of the Network-Connected Base Station, you do this in

    GCE right?

When you turn on the RFR Handheld, holding the "." button down,

after ca. 10 seconds, you can let go, and you will see a list of available

connections. What do you see there?

What version of Ion Software are you running?

Do you have the RFR Enabled in the Ion software under Settings?

    THANKS!

  • What version of Software did you update the RFR Handheld to? I believe 2.08 (hooked it up to the computer and used the network update)

What version of Software did you update the RFR Base Station to? I believe its the 2.05

How is the base station connected to the Ion? USB directly to the ION

When you set the HF channel of the USB-Connected Base Station, you do

this in the Ion Settings Menu USB RFR right? Yes set to the same thing on the handheld and inside the settings menu on the ION

When you set the HF channel of the Network-Connected Base Station, you do this in

GCE right? what is the GCE is that the software on the computer used to update the base?

When you turn on the RFR Handheld, holding the "." button down,

after ca. 10 seconds, you can let go, and you will see a list of available

connections. What do you see there? There is just the direct connection option and the rest are searching for base stations

What version of Ion Software are you running? not sure what it is off hand.  Plan to update it once the current show closes but the remote worked fine for a week then would just stop connecting

Do you have the RFR Enabled in the Ion software under Settings? Yes

  • During the RFR Base update, did you get a confirmation that it updated? Could

    you try this update again?

Are there any new WLAN devices, like Wireless mics that could be causing interference?

And the different channels you tried had reception

according to the RFR Handheld Display?

The handheld will only connect when in the Ion

    application.
