Hello,
A clock synchronization feature is built into all the Eos hardware called SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol). You will find the SNTP Settings in the Shell's Network Tab within the Net3 Services settings. For it to work correctly, you have to make sure that you have SNTP enabled, and that ONLY the Primary console configured as SNTP "Server" (serving the correct time to everyone else) and every other peice of hardware should be configured as SNTP "Client"
My Consoles my been syched perfectly since, thanks.
However, the time is always wrong. When i change the time, I get a message saying that since net3 is enabled the time will revert, which it does. Don't I need the net3 enabled? How can I fix this?
Thanks B
Hi,
There are a couple of things you need to be sure of when you are setting time in an Eos system.
1) Be sure that you are making the time change on the master" device. Since it is acting as the time server, it is where the network gets it it's time information. If you change the time on a client machine, it will simply revert to whatever the time server is sending.
2) Set your time zone. If your time zone is off in either the master or client machines it will always be off.
Hope this helps.
