Unassigning cue list from a fader (sub)

I have a cue list assigned to a fader sub on an Ion.  I want to remove it so that I can use it as a sub.  I've tried what the manual says to do and I've also tried "deleting" the sub.  So far nothing's worked-- cue list is still there.  I'm obviously not doing something right or leaving something out.  The one thing I do know is when I hold down "Fader Controls", even before I press "Release" the sub LCD's go blank as if I'm changing fader pages.  Can someone point me in the right direction.... PLEASE?!?!

  • What version of software are you running?  While the console is on, clear the command line and press [About].

If using 1.9.7 or earlier the manuals instructions should work.  If running 1.9.8 or newer, then there are new instructions.

In 1.9.8 we updated the functionality of {Off} and {Release} for faders and then added [Shift + Fader] to remove the contents.  You can read what each does in the 1.9.11 supplement.

For your case; press and hold [Shift] and then press both buttons under the fader on the wing.  This will remove the cue list from the fader.  Then you can assign a sub to it.  [Shift] is also used to remove subs.
