Pixel Mapping

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a way to customize pixel maps a bit more.

My understanding is that the grid has to have sequiental addresses, and you can only really change the direction of those addresses (ie, going from top right to left, and zig zagging down or starting bottom right and zig zagging up).

Is there any way I can pick and choose which of the pixels have which addresses? My designer is using more of a 'U' shape as opposed to a grid, so the addresses aren't sequential. As a further problem, I can't individually address the LEDs and work around that way.

Has any one else hit this problem? Am I just missing something in the pixel map editor?

Thanks!

  • You can make the pixel map as custom as you want with addresses.  In the Editor dispayl, simply select an individual pixel, give it a fixture type, enter an address and then press {Apply}.  Do this with all of pixels that you want to use and leave the rest empty.  You can make the pixel map grid as big as you want until you hit the max size, but then only populate the individual pixels that you want.

Selecting a group of fixtures will apply addresses in the direction that you have chosen, but single fixture addressing it what you want

  • Excellent. I was able to change this is in the console, and it looks good.

Haven't been able to use it practically yet, as not all the instruments are hung, but this makes my life so much easier!

    Thank you!
