How do I find the MAC address for my ION board? I am trying to set up a network and need this information.
Can you hook it up to the router and look at the router logs.
I tried but no where in the router logs does it list out the devices connected to it with MAC addresses. Only wireless connections and the board is not connected wirelessly.
Try walking through your router menus and looking for a listing of ATTACHED DEVICES. That's where I find the MAC address in my Netgear genie page.
Went through every menu on the linsys router and could not come up with anything anywhere that listed mac addresses for the devices.
May I ask why you need the MAC address? What are you trying to do?
It's very rare that you actually need that in a modern network.
As far as I know, all the network systems that require it (MAC filters, DHCP servers etc) show it next to the IP address or even name of the devices.
- So it's a pretty good rule of thumb that if you can't see it, you don't need it.
I'm trying to set up the network power on so I don't have to climb all the way up to the booth then all the way back down to do channel check through the aRFR app.
I've read on the forums that to do so you can set up another app that sends a signal to a computer (in this case the board) that tells it to wake up and power on. Though to do this the program needs the MAC address to know where to send the signal.
Wake-on-LAN is not enabled on the consoles (I know it doesn't work on EOS). It is enabled on RPU's and RVI's.
