ion

last night i power down are ion and a lamp in the rig snapped on. this happened to me before last year when i toured with a different ion, so i turned the ion back on and the lamp went out. i didn't load up a show i just shut down again and then a different lamp snapped on. so i powered the ion back on and the lamp went out and this time i loaded the show and "GO TO CUE 0 ENTER" and then powered off again. it all seemed to be fine after that.

this is an ion that we are renting its not in a etc system we just have it DMX straight to the dimmer. just want to know does this happen a lot.

You are experiencing the DMX death gasp discussed on several other threads. These first 2 might give you some clues how to work around the issue.

I want to say that this is more of a dimmer rack problem than the console. We have 4 IONs and we only have this occasionally occur in only 1 of our facilities. That facility has an older EDI Mark 7 rack that we added a DMX board to the architechtural controller to allow us to control the houselights. We only have a houselight dimmer or two lock on until console reboot. Just my two cents.

It happens intermittently with my Ion and Sensor system and it's not even 5 years old yet.
