MSC control of subs

The current show might be using projections triggered by QLab. Since I don't know when or where these projections will occur, the easiest way for me to incorporate this into the cue stack is to set up an inhibitive sub for any lights that need to fade out when a projection is present and let QLab trigger the sub as needed to fade in and out any lights that might be on at the time.

So the question is -- what fade time will a sub use if it receives an MSC Set command and can it be manipulated without using a macro?

  • Plan B is to use an MSC Fire command and macros (sub X at y time z) to manage the time.
  • Plan C is multiple cue stacks with assert and release
  • Plan D is fixing the main cue stack and educating the board ops to stay away from the Go button.

Incidentally, I was surprised to learn that  Sub x Out and Sub x Full have the same behaviour for inhibitive subs and that there was a difference between Sub x Out and Sub x at 0. I think I understand why it might be desirable to behave that way, but it isn't intuitive, nor is it in the manual.
