Using client software as a live viewer

Hi all,

Am I able to use the client software (running on my Macbook) as a live "viewer" of what is going on with the master console (an Ion)? I don't want to edit or run the desk from the laptop, just view screens.

Is this possible without the client dongle?

  • Sure, that's no problem - without a dongle you get "Mirror Mode", which allows you to see the screen(s) of the Primary.

You'll still need to set up your Macbook's IP to the same subnet (default 10.101.1.101, subnet 255.255.0.0). If you have the Ion set as an address (DHCP) server, it should assign an IP to the Mac if it is set up to receive one.

Remember that the software versions have to be identical as well - at this time 1.9.12 is the latest release.
