Gio sleep disable

Is there a way to turn off the console sleep cycle on the Gio?  I am finding it quite annoying to come up to the console and have to wake it up before i can start a command line.

Also, I would be curious if anyone has experienced the same thing i am seeing.  We're in 'workshopping' a piece which means the Gio is sitting for a while in a rehearsal state between lx changes, and today i've noticed i have randomly dropped my sACN network twice now.  I am noticing this when the hold signal timer on my house lights reaches its time before the stage lights do and the house lights fade out.  Has anyone experienced this from the console or should i be looking elsewhere in my network?

  • Hi there,

As Anne hinted at, there's a lot that could be going on with the sACN dropout.

    • Network
      • What is in the network?
      • How is the Gio connected?
      • What is the topography? Is there a riser diagram?
      • What are the IP addresses of the gear in the system?
      • If there is a managed switch in the system, was it provided by ETC, or a third party?
    • Equipment
      • What all is listening to sACN?
      • What is transmitting sACN? Is there Paradigm or some other sACN source that is also transmitting?
      • What software versions are running? (Dimming racks, consoles, Paradigm, etc...)
    • Gio-specific
      • We may want to get logs from the console with the exact time when the dropouts happened (or when the "wait & fade" behavior kicked in on the racks).
    • Wireshark
      • If all else fails, we may want to get a capture of the network traffic to see if we can find anything else going on in there.

This may be best resolved over the phone or email -- I'll PM you in a second.

    Thanks!
