GIO Dimmer Doubler Patch Display & iRFR Channel Check

We use a lot of dimmer doubling in our venue.  The patch display shows some of the doubled dimmers as 3B or 115B but shows others as there raw DMX (+256) value.  All dimmers are working properly, though this display can cause confusion  when one verifies tha patch.

I have unpatched and deleted channels then repatched the 256+ dimmers and they will not display as xB.

Channel Check behaivior with the iRFR is also odd:  If I start at address 99, when I get to 101A it displays as 101.  101B dispalys normally, then the next address is 256.  This happens every time.

  • Hi there,

In regards to the first issue - it sounds like there are particular dimmers that this is happening on -- would you be able to send in your showfile, along with the dimmer numbers in question, to hans <dot> hinrichsen <at> etcconnect <dot> com?

I'll also take a look at the channel check behavior at the same time.

    Thanks!

    Hans

    Update:

Chan 78 shows Address 51B. Its actual address is 102A.  Both Chan 78 and Add 102A respond correctly.  Add 51B is actually patched elsewhere and that chan responds correctly.

Deleting and repatching Chan 78 has fixed this error.

    Chans 211, 212 & 224 only display the 'doubled' address value; 336, 334 & 343 respectively.  I cannot get them to display their root addresses; 80B, 78B & 87B.

Deleting and repatching these chans has not fixed this error.

A Deep Clear and reload the show file had no effect.  A Deep Clear and starting a new show file:  all dimmers noted above displayed and responded properly.

  • Have you upgraded to v2.0 yet?

We changed the display behavior of dim doubled fixtures in patch to make it more consistent in v2.0
