ION 1.9 upgrade/key kap replacement and changes in the Net3 RFU

It sounds like you're meaning the RFR handheld remote.

When you turn it on it automatically boots up in 'Channel Check' mode.

It will say:

ChanChk                             1/1

Address                            Last

Full                                     Next

You probably want to be using it in 'Live' mode.

Once it has booted, press and hold the [Mode/More SK] button.

Then press the [S2] button. (Live)

This then changes the RFR to 'Live' mode, showing:

Live                                           1/2.

Group       RemDim        Sneak

Full            Out                  Macro

Then your good to set various levels, record & update cues, and get on with the show...

I'm sorry you have been put in this frustrating situation. As Gern says above you just need to change the mode of your RFR to get the behavior you are used to.

By upgrading from 1.4 to 1.9.12 (presumably) you have taken a fairly massive leap. Don't worry though, you won't have lost any functionality. The philosophy here is never to take away, only to add. So you will find that your Ion now has many more great new features, including a multitude of bug fixes and other improvements. I would hope that your service tech would have talked you through some of these at the time of upgrade.

Don't be put off by software upgrades, they are there to make your life better in the long run.

Taken one or two updates at a time, these are easy and small - but take all of them between 1.4 to 1.9.12 at once, and it's a pretty huge leap.
- It's also more likely that you'll miss some of the new features that you'd find really useful, buried in the avalanche of new stuff!

So if you can update more often in the future (maybe once a year) you'll find that the additions are much easier to wrap your head around.
(And put in the mental boxes "Don't really care", "Sounds useful", and "Wow!". We hope there's a lot of wow.)
