The External Monitor Arrangement tool shows all the possibilities that the underlying OS exposes to us -- I've looked on an Eos here in Tech Services and confirmed that I only have landscape as an option. This is a limitation of the Eos console only - the other hardware platforms do support a rotated monitor.

Is this answer still correct? And if so, will upgrading the console to the new motherboard/ SSD and Win7 fix this issue on Eos? What about Ti?

as far as i'm aware, portrait is available with all win7 consoles (Gio and Eos Ti) and will be available on an Element and Ion after upgrading. there will be no upgrade for Eos classic...

Unfortunately Eos consoles do not support the Win7 upgrade that is coming out for Ion, Element and others. So this feature will not be coming to a theatre near you. (Unless you want to upgrade to Ti) Ti does indeed support portrait or landscape modes.
It is worth pointing out, I think, that we are not arbitrarily withholding the Win 7 image upgrade from Eos. There are no Win 7 drivers available for the internal touch screens on Eos (Congo sr. as well). We apologize for that - but there is no solution available.
