Effect not firing straight away on Gio

Hi Kenny,

There are a few things that could be causing this. What is the time of the cue that is starting the effect? If it's 5 seconds, then it's likely that which is causing what you're seeing. If you look at the Entry Time on the effect it's probably set to Cue/Sub, if you tap that and change it to 0 the effect should start instantly. The other possibility is that the first Action in the effect has a long time on it?

Cheers for the quick reply, the cue time was a snap, the movers would snap to the first position of the chase then wait 5 seconds then start the effect. this happens both in a recorded cue and when we are plotting, for example the are movers in a focus position CS then the first position for the effect is DS corners moving from there. so the movers snap to DS but wait 5 seconds to start the effect.

Hi Dan,

the dwell time was 0, the only times in the effects edit where the 15 seconds for the cycle as this was the only time frame that allowed the movers to hit each location. there are 3 steps in all, as soon the effect had started there was no other delay or pause during the effect. the only problem is triggering it to start immediately.

It's a bit difficult to tell without looking at your show file. Just trying to think through the possibilities... is this a multi-part cue (is the effect on a channel in part 1)? What is the time on the first Action?

If the first action in the effect has the same level as live before the effect is fired, there won't be anyfading during the first action of the effect until the second pass. Is this what is happening?

For instance if the channel is at 0 and teh first action in the effect fades to 0, there won't be anything fading during the first 5 seconds of the effect.

no its not part of a multi part cue,

this happens even when im recalling the effect before any recording or updates has been done,  this pause is also there when the cue is played back. it seams to be the initial trigger that has a delay/pause but all times are at 0. as i said before the movers snap to the starting position and wait 5 seconds before starting the effect. the effect then runs without any pauses and is fine.

the two movers are ETC Revs which are at full and focused CS, in the previous cue,they go to the first position whic is the DS corners and the second and third positions are FOH, they are basically doing a sweep of the auditorium  (thank panto for this). but they snap to the first position from CS wait for 5 seconds then proceed with the effect as programmed.
