Removing Fixture Global Reset renumbers DMX addresses in custom fixture

I came upon a weird quirk while editing a copy of the profile for the Varilite VL1000T.

I needed to remove the Fixture Global Reset channel from my patch, and at first didn't know how to do this. I was informed that I needed to delete the Lamp Controls in order to change or delete the Fixture Global Reset parameter. After removing all of the lamp controls & deleting the Fixture Global Reset parameter (DMX 19), all of the DMX assignments were automatically renumbered from 1. This made the Pan DMX 1, but DMX 1 is the intensity (but is actually an external dimmer).

So, is this a quirk, bug, or intended behavior?

  • Ann beat me to it.

    I just followed your steps and the fixture editor didn't renumber everything when I deleted the fixture global reset parameter. I am using the beta build for 2.0.

    Steps:
    - Copied fixture in Fixture Editor
    - {Lamp Controls}
    - Delete the four lamp commands
    - {Return} to view the parameters
    - Select the Global Fixture Reset parameter and press {Delete}

    Everything remained numbered how it was prior to the deletion.
