Can we (may we?) assume that this functionality will be in the next EOS software update as well?

You may.

Eos Family software is similar for Eos, Gio and Ion, and Element, although Element has some philosophical differences from the others that restrict functionality in favour of ease of use.

If you look closely, you'll see that the photo above is an Ion!

Eos, Gio and Ion have the same functionality, the only differences are the physical hardware and the available output counts.

As sk8rs_dad said, Element removes some of the more 'advanced' functionality to make it faster to learn.

Just wondering, are magic sheets going to be available on the Element? (As is mentioned above, I know that the Element does forgo some of the more advanced features of the Eos line. Curious if this will fall into that category or not...)

Yes, Magic Sheets work on the Element.  I am using them in the Beta.  They look great.
