Going from Congo to ion.

So how hard will it be to go from a Congo to an Ion?

  • Just do everything in the exact opposite order you have to do it on the congo and you should be fine.

In all seriousness, I find the ion a whole lot more intuitive than the Congo, but the thought process is certainly different.  Check out the youtube tutorials, and if you've ever programmed on an express or similar console you should pick it up quickly.

  • i've hardly ever worked with congo, but if i remember correctly, the main difference in syntax is that it's not rotated (instead of "6 Channel" you type "Channel 6 Enter"). the other difference i remember is, that there are different terms or systems, especially with cues. when you record in congo and get a preset and a sequence step, on eos you get a cue, which is your preset and the sequence step in one. recording a preset on an eos mean that you record something like a palette, but it can contain multiple parameter categories.

i suggest, that you watch either the Ion tutorial films on youtube or download the teabreak tutorials, both to be found unter etcconnect.com under support.

and if you have specific questions, of course come back to the forum and ask :)
