I am running an Ion v1.9.12 with 2 external DVI monitors. Currently the CIA is on the left monitor (Monitor #1)
I would like to change the primary display to the right monitor (Monitor #2), but when I change the primary display in the shell configuration, Monitor #2 goes black entirely (no input), and Monitor #1 remains the primary. When I click revert, Monitor #2 comes back, but Monitor #1 is still primary.
How can I get the CIA onto my right monitor?

Hi. There is some strange bug involving this. When I called ETC, they had me start up the ion with only the montior I wanted to be primary attached, then shut down and add the second monitor. After this, the desired montior becomes the primary one.
The reason why I'm posting here is because the console isn't functioning the way it should and I know Anne and ETC peruse this forum.
I'm wary about swapping plugs, since I've burned out dual-DVI adapters from too much swapping in the past, and sometimes the console keeps the orientation even after you switch. I will try hydrogen's tip.

C'mon, have they really not fixed this bug yet?? This happens every time I set up a new console.
EDIT: For the record, hydrogen's method works, but it is very time consuming and requires completely shutting off the console twice. In addition to the method outlined above, after you plug in the secondary monitor and boot up, you have to go into the shell settings via "Exit" in the browser, then go into "Monitor Arrangement" and enable the secondary monitor and place it in the correct box in the grid before before clicking Accept and restarting the console program.
So, to summarize the workaround:
1.) Shut down the console
2.) Disconnect the DVI of the monitor you wish to be the secondary monitor, and leave the primary monitor connected.
3.) Turn on the console and let it boot entirely
4.) Shut down the console again
5.) Connect the DVI of the secondary monitor.
6.) Boot the console into the shell screen and select Settings
7.) In Monitor Arrangement, Enable the secondary monitor and place it in the correct spot on the grid
8.) Close Monitor Arrangement, click Accept and start up the console software.
That was easy, wasn't it?

I agree with Rick that something odd is occurring.
We have an Ion with dual ELO touch screens that we are constantly unplugging, re-plugging, booting, shutting down, with none of the problems you are seeing.
Thus I'd be having a long talk with Tech Support to get it resolved.
