ADJ led in ION library

Just purchased some ADJ Mega GO Bar 50s and Mega GO Par 64's for fill lighting on the stage.  I assumed because I saw the bars in the libray on my ION that all was good.  Tonight I am set up to begin focus then cues in a couple of days and I discovered the Bars in the library for at least the 6 channel mode are not correct.  Channels are not in the proper order and there is at least one that the fixture does not have.  Sooo I manually created the fixture based on the manual.  I also discovered none of the Pars are not in the library at all.  They both have identical attributes though, so I just copied my manually created Bar fixture and renamed it Par.  Here's the problem;  there is no dimming ability.  When the fixtures are selected and I run the wheel up and down slowly the fixture flashes on and off and on and off and so on.  If I select it at 50% it is off and if I select it at 40% it is on.  This varies with any intensity selected.

Sooo I next placed the fixtues in the 3 channel mode;  simple rgb, selected the 3 channel bars from the library then copied the bars and renamed them as pars and selected them.  Now I have 3 channel bars and 3 channel pars patched and they work perfectly buttttttt I am not able to use any of the features in the higher channel modes such as strobing because they are only in rgb mode.

My questions are three fold:

1) why might they not be operating properly in 6 channel mode when I created them exactly as the manal says?  Actually the first 6 channels per the manual and of course the next three were automatically added by the ION in creating the fixture.  They are hue, sat and brightness.

2) Would it be possible to get the various (at least the 6 channel) modes fixed.

3) Would it be possible to add the ADJ Mega Go Par 64 fixture to the library.

I can send the data and/or the manual

  • We don't have either profile in the library yet, but we are always updating it so I would imagine that they will be there soon.

I can see that the Intensity and Color Macros parameters are swapped in the Mega Bar 50 RGB 6ch fixture profile.  If you edit the profile and swap the DMX address for Intensity and Color Macros then it should work.   I will get this entered so that it can get fixed.

If you want/need a specific fixture profile that isn't in there yet, please send a copy of the Manual and/or DMX chart to Anne Valentino or Tech Services along with a date of when you need it.  They will be able to facilitate the creation a profile.  It might take a few days or weeks so the more time given to us the better.

  • I don't quite follow the first line; dont have either profile in the library yet.  My console seems to have all of the choices of the Mega GO Bar 50 in it, from 2 channel to 7 channel.  It's just missing all of the Mega GO Par 64's which are identical to the  Bar, Identical.  So it would only mean copying the Bar profiles once fixed and naming them Mega GO Par 64.

Not at the console now but will check when I get there later this afternoon.  I thought I saw a wrong attribute rather than switched.  You may very well be right about that so can't wait to see.  If so then i'll swap and see.  If not I'll let you know further.

If that needs to be sent to Anne or Tech Services then i'll do that.
