EOS Client Network Problem

Thank you for the detailed information from the start. It really helps to save a step or two along the way.

Does the Ion experience a similar lag, or only the client computer?

What happens if/when the computer is connected via a wired connection?

If you try and ping for an extended period of time from the client laptop to the Eos console, what is the average time, and are there any packets that are dropped? (On a Windows PC, this would be from a command line: ping 10.101.90.101 -n 100  -- Let it run until it is completed, and it will give a summary at the bottom).

Finally, what version of software are you running in the Eos system? You can find this by clearing the command line and pressing the About key. Just the short version is fine -- 1.9.2 or 1.9.6 or 1.9.12, etc....

thanks for the quick reply, the ION doesn't have any Problems, it runs as Backup very well, it takes command if I shutdown the EOS.

I tried a wired Connection as well, but I had the same Problem, but I'll try again tomorrow, and I will try it without the ION running, so we can figure out it the Problem would be the other Console.

We run the 1.9.12 Version.

PS. I forgot to mention, that the NET3 Gates for DMX-Output is connected to the Switch as well.

ich würde die DHCP-Funktion auf jeden Fall aus der EOS rausschmeissen & jedem Netzwerkteilnehmer eine feste IP geben.

Wenn Du den Klapprechner auch in anderen Netzen brauchst, kannst Du die "Umgebung" super mit dem kostenfreien Tool "NetSetMan" verwalten & in Sekundenschnelle an das aktuelle Netz anpassen.

Eventuell braucht der Rechner eine Weile, um die Adresse von der EOS zu bekommen (habe selber die DHCP Funktion noch nie benutzt, ausser um Gateways erstmals eine IP zuzuweisen).
Danach aber wieder daektivieren.

Da sich der Client irgendwann verbindet, gehe ich davon aus, das alle mit der gleichen Version spielen und die gleichen Tastatur- & Spracheinstellungen haben...

Versuch´s mal...
Das sollte generell besser laufen, wenn jeder immer die gleiche feste IP benutzt.
Vor allem bei Problemen kann man die Wege besser nachvollziehen.

Oder spielt der Client erstmals mit?

In unseren Consolen ist zBsp. das Gateway immer die gleiche IP wie die jeweilige Console.
Im NetSetMan wird für den PC-Client auch nur eine IP & Subnetz vergeben. Standardgateway bleibt leer.

Die GatewayIP wird auch nur gebraucht, wenn es wirklich ein Gateway im Netzwerk mit Internetanbindung gibt, sollen aber in den Consolen eingetragen sein.
Bei wahrscheinlich fast allen dürfte das aber nicht der Fall sein.

Danke für die Antworten, aber ich hatte heute mal Zeit, mich intensiver mit dem Problem zu befassen und habe dabei festgestellt, dass es nicht an dem DHCP oder ner anderen Netzwerkgeschichte lag, sondern schlicht und einfach an der Übertragungsrate des Accespoints, bei uns geht's von der Lichtregie aus durch 2 Glasscheiben und ca. 20m in die Regiereihe, da ist dann die Übertragungsrate einfach so unglaublich niedrig, dass ich ein Time-Lag von ca. 15s hatte. Das mit der GatewayIP benötigt man, wenn man den Client über Windows 7 oder 8 betreibt, damit Windows das Netztwerk als Arbeitsplatznetzwerk oder Heimnetzwerk erkennt und nicht ein öffentliches Netzwerk daraus macht, was bedeutet, dass die Firewall den Client nicht mit der Console kommunizieren lässt. wir haben heute Vormittag ein Kabel gezogen und damit funktioniert es ohne Probleme, Kabel rein, IP beziehen, Client starten und geht.

Tja manchmal ist ein Kabel doch die sicherste Variante.

I solved it, the Accespoint was the problem, it was way to weak for the huge amount of data that was sent, i replacet the AP through a wire, and it worked as it should.
