Hi Anders
I presume you are running a Gio console?
At the moment only the first Ethernet port is enabled. With the release of software version 2.0 (coming very soon) you will be able to use both Ethernet ports.

Thanks Graham
I am running a Gio Console. Does anybody know what "very soon" is?

Well I'm not prepared to put my neck on the line and say exactly when, even if I did know for sure!
Anne may come along later and be a bit more specific, but I would say you won't be waiting more than a month or two all being well :-)
2.0 is scheduled to be released on March 18th. We are right up on the release candidate and plan to let the final version sit with our beta testers for a few weeks prior to release. Happy to sign you up for beta. In addition to the dual network ports now enabled, we've made changes to protocol management and Artnet that you will probably find of benefit. Just drop me an email... or reply here... if you'd like to access the beta code.
(Thanks Graham!)

For future reference, Anne defined the word "shortly " in this brilliant bit of prose back in 2009, edited to exclude references to dates specific to what was at that time the eagerly awaited iRFR app. It also applies to "soon".
"Shortly" is a weasel word often used by developers and marketeers to explain a time frame in which several unpredictable unknowns exist. In this particular instance, "shortly" is used as we have not yet finished testing INSERT PRODUCT NAME HERE Our target date was A LITTLE WHILE AGO. There were several impediments to this plan. "Shortly" therefore seems to be the word that most defines our goals, without promising dates that we may simply be unable to meet.
"End of INSERT MONTH HERE" is a slight variation on the weasel concept defined above - but the basic precepts are the same.
As soon as a hard date is available, you all will hear it here first!
Hope that helps!
