Unable to import 1.9.11 show files to 2.0

So I've download OLE 2.0 and performed a USB flash drive import only to find file error upon import.

ASCII export from 1.9.11 to 2.0 is the only thing I've found that works, but  not everything restores like snapshots and few other things.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your time

  • John-

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why would you want to do an ASCII import on an EOS show file, when you can just open the 1.9.11 file in 2.0.0? This automatically converts it and allows you to go between versions. This carries over patch, cues, moving lights, and any other specifics to your show file.

Let me know if I'm just reading this incorrectly.

  • Hey Jared

Sorry if the last post seemed vague.

What you've stated was exactly what I did from the start.

    -place thumb drive in desktop

-went to File>Open>Kensington>Showfile Archive>our standard rep file

and was shown File Load Error!  unable to read show file.

as a result nothing loaded and was left with a new show

I just went out on a limb to tried ASCII to at least get patch and cues restored.

    Thanks for the quick response

  • So luckly I happen to have a Mac in my office and installed the OLE in it, and it seems to be working just fine with loading show files from the flash drive.

Maybe somethings up with the PC that's started all of this. I do have the OLE running off ADMIN on the PC. I don't know. Maybe it's time to call

  • Hey John,

I've not seen this with either Beta or released 2.0 in the OLE, on a WinXP machine.

In the OLE, what happens when you copy the data from the USB to the Show Archive and then try opening there ?.

Or on the console, do the file transfer in the shell before booting into Ion.

FWIW, I have ongoing issues with my Ion facepanel USB drive not seeing off-brand drives - Microcenter and HP in particular and keep a short USB cable jumper off a back spare USB port. The console always sees that drive.  Kensington and Sandisk seem to be OK on the front, so maybe an odd USB drive issue.
