Problems with Clay Paky Alpha Profile 700s

Morning!

I have a number of CP Alpha Pro 700s in my rig and am having a little bit of trouble with them. The current Eos fixture doesn't seem to have the LAMP CONTROL channel included. So far I have managed to amend one to my custom fixture and write some lamp controls for it. On Saturday night when we shut down the rig I seemed to be able to use my hand written lamp off control to douse the lamps, however today it seems not to be working. I have the electricians harnessing up to go and check the settings at the fixtures and make sure it's not a lamp thing, but I thought I'd also check my working here with you guys.

For Lamp On my control is 1 step, 6 seconds in length. It has one level and that is to take DMX channel 37 to 63.

For Lamp Off my control is 1 step, 6 seconds in length. It has one level and that is to take DMX channel 37 to 217.

Any thoughts?

hi vic

there should a profile with lamp control as well as one without. there is the tag LC to differenciate between the two. but the levels of your steps and the seconds are right. there is however somthing i seem to remember about clay paky's control channel: i think before you move the channel to it's striking position, it needs to be in a "neutral" range of the dmx channel. i don't have the dmx specs for a CP at hand but maybe you could find this range and add it as additional step in your lamp control?

The LC thing is good to know... I'll base my fixture on that in future...
